2022

Becoming a Workforce Australia Provider

Two members of the JPC Group, Indigenous Workstars and Five Bridges are granted a licence under the Workforce Australia Program to provide employment support services to job seekers.  With Indigenous Workstars servicing the Fitzroy region, the Rockhampton office was expanded, with 2 new office locations opening up in Gladstone and Woorabinda.  Five Bridges services the Brisbane South region, with new offices established in Beenleigh, Browns Plains and Woodridge.

2021

New Five Bridges CEO appointed

Long term JPC Group staff member Jessica Taylor was appointed as the new CEO of Five Bridges as founding CEO Julieanne Eisemann stepped into retirement.  Jess is a proud Yuwaalaraay Women and experienced professional with a history across multiple industries and a passion for Five Bridges community focussed programs.

2020

Launch of Workforce Connect

Workforce Connect was launched as a service to support our clients who sought a temporary and short term staffing solutions through labour hire.

2018

Murri Sisters DV service joins the Group

The Murri Sisters Domestic Violence service joins The JPC Groups’ non-profit community organisation Five Bridges.  The Murri Sisters DV service compliments Five Bridges support of families affected by violence, abuse, and in the court and prison systems.  Indigenous Workstars placed a record 1,200 people into employment.  Indigenous Workstars is again awarded the Federal Government’s VTEC contract to support Indigenous job seekers into employment with the VTEC region expanded to include the region spanning from Caboolture, across the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast and Central Queensland regions north to Mackay.

2017

Establishes RBY Workstars Labour Hire

The Indigenous Workstars division of the JPC Group established the RBY Workstars Labour Hire Joint Venture in partnership with Indigenous business RBY Projects.  RBY Workstars is an Indigenous majority owned Supply Nation Certified Labour Hire provider servicing clients across NSW and QLD with a focus on the civil construction, infrastructure development, mining, resources and the energy sectors.  Look Now Training expands the services it offers to support trainees and apprentices with Disabilities.

2016

Skilling Queenslanders for Work

Through Five Bridges the JPC Group commenced delivering Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programs to assist disadvantaged and low skilled job-seekers build skills to maximise their employment opportunities. Our Health Care Workers project was successfully finalised.

2015

Establishes Indigenous Housing

The Five Bridges arm of the JPC Group continues to address the serious issue of Indigenous incarceration through the establishment of a domestic house centre to support Indigenous males transitioning out of prison and reintegrating back into society. The Indigenous Child Care Services training project was successfully completed across New South Wales  and remote Northern Territory.  The JPC Group was recognised as the winner of the Indigenous Business category of the Australian Small Business Champions Awards and also the Excellence in Collaboration Award at the Sunshine Coast Business Excellence Awards.

2014

600 Indigenous jobs

JPC's Indigenous Workstars recruitment service reached a milestone of placing its 600th Indigenous job seekers into employment since the service was first launched three years prior. Now servicing a large breadth of industries and organisations both large and small, Indigenous Workstars was appointed as the Federal Government's Vocational Training and Employment Centre (VTEC) sole provider for the Central Queensland region. The JPC Group's Look Now Training division was also recognised for its commitment to quality training through being announced as the Winner of the Queensland Training Awards Small Training Provider of the Year.

2013

JPC establishes Five Bridges

In response to a number of emerging community needs, JPC established a non-profit offshoot – Five Bridges Ltd. The organisation, headed up by long serving JPC staff member Julieanne Eisemann as CEO, partnered with the Ipswich and Brisbane Community Justice Groups to provide essential court support services. The JPC Group's training company Look Now Training established the Djamgah Learning Circle, a model focussed on ensuring higher retention and completion rates of students than traditional training models. Look Now Training also featured as one of only three finalists in the Queensland State Training Awards Small Training Provider category.

2012

John Pearson awarded three consecutive awards

JPC Director John Pearson was awarded three consecutive awards in 2012. He received the AIM Owner Manager for both the Sunshine Coast and Queensland and was also awarded Outstanding Business person of the Year at the Sunshine Coast Business Excellence Awards. Exceptional results were achieved across a number of projects, with Indigenous Workstars particularly successful, connecting hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with businesses throughout the country to develop rewarding working relationships. JPC moved to a new office space in Kawana Waters to accommodate the growing team, which now included over 25 staff members, some located as far north as Darwin and as far south as Melbourne.

2011

Launches Indigenous Workstars

JPC launched the Indigenous Workstars project. This innovative online resource connects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with businesses in their area had an overwhelming response from employees, employers and Registered Training Organisations. JPC also recorded the greatest number of graduating trainees in its history, and expanded its services interstate.

2010

New office opened in Maroochydore

A new office opened in January 2010 in the CBD of Maroochydore with dedicated training facilities and freely available rooms for local Murri organisations. Relationship with local community strengthened and the business added enterprise development to our long list of growing services, facilitating effective development strategies for businesses throughout Queensland.

2009

Added to Indigenous Employment and Economic Development Panels

With clients all over Queensland, including the Torres Strait, JPC continued to grow throughout 2009 and was added to the DEEWR Indigenous Employment and Economic Development Panels. This was a significant year for one of JPC's services, Look Now Company, which produced outstanding results. A Registered Training Organisation, Look Now Training and Employment Services delivered over 20 qualifications designed specifically support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their organisations.

2008

Added to the Indigenous Business Australia

JPC was added to the list of consultants in distinguished Indigenous Business Australia. The company were now providing a growing list of clients with access to a range of employment and training solutions. Clients also included several Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Councils, which was a huge accomplishment for the team, who were now recognised as a leading provider in Indigenous services.

2007

John Pearson leaves public sector

2007 signalled a new beginning for JPC as John left the public sector to focus on the business as the company's Director. Not long after John's best friend and the company's new Business Development Manager, Tim Robson joined the company full time to help manage the workload. JPC became the organisation's trading name and John established a company called Look Now Pty Ltd. The term Look Now, symbolised a positive difference intended for Australia's future and the opportunities provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout the country. John was determined to help create equal opportunity and develop the resources and services to make this dream a reality.

2006

Client list grows to almost 40 organisations

The client list had grown to almost 40 organisations each with their own unique needs and requirements. JPC was committed to customising training and services to meet these demands and continued to grow the number of volunteers committed to assisting the business.

2005

Gains first Government contracts

In 2005 for providing quality service and an absolute passion to work alongside Indigenous people John gained his first Government contract to provide capacity building services. It was time to rebrand the business to reflect the company's commitment to Indigenous services, so the logo was changed to incorporate JPC's dedication to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their businesses.

2004

Tim Robson joins John Pearson

By 2004 the workload was too great for just John on his own; and volunteer support was required. John asked good friend Tim Robson and a network of other volunteers to join him. Around this time some organisations insisted on paying for the services, as the projects were getting bigger and more complex. A few people coined the name JP Consulting, or JPC - so an unassuming green JPC logo was developed to help identify the business and its services.

2002

John Pearson full time

John Pearson was a full time faculty Director on the Sunshine Coast, however he found most nights and weekends he volunteered assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non for profit organisations; and this is where his true passion lay. John assisted with funding submissions, performance reports, creating policies, developing organisational plans and procedures to assist with compliance requirements and continued to deliver these services in every spare moment he had.
