VTEC Initiative – Central Queensland and Sunshine Coast

Indigenous Workstars, part of the JPC Group, was appointed as the Federal Government's Vocational Training and Employment Centre (VTEC) sole provider for the Queensland region spanning from Beerwah, across the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast and Central Queensland regions north to Mackay.

VTECs are an Australian Government initiative to support Indigenous jobseekers into a sustainable job.

Through our role as a VTEC provider we are committed to working closely with Indigenous job-seekers to ensure appropriate training, job opportunities and specialist support is provided to prepare our candidates for, and sustain, long-term employment.

We work closely with employers who are committed to providing opportunities for First Australians.

Both our employers and the job-seekers are well supported from the beginning.

Specifically, we provide:

  • Resume and cover letter preparation
  • Job application assistant
  • Interview and employability skills
  • Training assistance
  • Employer relationship management
  • Pre and Post-employment mentoring and support for our candidate and their employer.
  • Support the job seeker into work
  • Support the job seeker through 26 weeks of employment
Who is this program for?

To be eligible to participate in this program you must meet the following criteria.

  • 16 years or older/ have completed schooling.
  • Residing in the VTEC service area (Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland)
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
